                    Audioslave - Cochise tab
by ze Toofan..

This is my tab work from Audioslave's hit song Cochise, track one on their first
album "Audioslave" published by Sony. For rythm and repititions of a part,
listen to the cd. There are already a couple of tabs out there on this song, but
they all had different tuning. Here is one which you dont need to change the
setup.

Dont ask me how he does his intro thingy, my best guess is that he mutes and
goes up and down on the top strings while using echo in one track (I tried it,
and it did not sound that bad), then he comes in a different track, hits a
chords and slides his way upwards slowly, this is my best guess! (by track I
mean that they have recorded two instruments in different tracks in that part)

x-----|
x-----|
x--9--|
x--9--|
x--7--|
x-----| and then up to

x-----|
x-----|
x--12-|
x--12-|
x--10-|
x-----|

Before he drops to the next part..

The "Well I've been watchin'
While you’ve been coughin" part..

x------------------------------|
x------------------------------|
x------------------------------|
x------------------------------|
x-7-6---6---------7-6-6--------|
x-----7---7-6-0---------7-6-0--|

"Go on and save yourself" part..

x----------------------------|
x----------------------------|
x----------------------------|
x-5--7-----------------------|
x-5--7----7-7-6-----------6--|
x-3--5----------7-0-3-5-7----|

then you drop the beginning and only play the second part

x--------------------|
x--------------------|
x--------------------|
x--------------------|
x-7-7-6-----------6--|
x-------7-0-3-5-7----|

The solo part (I think)
Morello uses effects here and bending (listen to cd), the tones, at least, are
as follows..

x-------------------------------|
x--------11--11--11--11--11--11-|
x-------------------------------|
x--8--8-------------------------|
x-------------------------------|
x-------------------------------|

"Drown, if you want
And I'll see you at the bottom" part

I cant hear if Morello is hitting the strings more than once on each chord, or
if he hits once and bends and holds it with effects, anyways, here they are, the
first one he plays is

x-----|
x-----|
x--4--|
x--4--|
x--2--|
x-----|

over and over again until Chris gets a vocal orgasm and sings "You dont feel a
thiaaaaaaaaaaaang!!" Morello goes up to

x-----|
x-----|
x--7--|
x--7--|
x--5--|
x-----|

and as Chris is expanding his vocal orgasm, Morello and crew fall back again on

x--------------------|
x--------------------|
x--------------------|
x--------------------|
x-7-7-6-----------6--|
x-------7-0-3-5-7----|

You might want to add additional strings on that riff to make it sound heavier
(like a 9'er in the beginning with the two 7'ens), but ze sceleton remainz

At Ze END, he plays

x--------|
x--------|
x--------|
x--9--9--|
x--7--7--|
x--------|

and slides down on the last one. You can add an additional 9'er on the chord if
you want to, but on my guitar it sounded best with only two strings.

This tab suxors since I only spent ten minutes figuring it out, for comments and
suggestions, please send them to ME!
